Confidence, Self-Worth & Performance
You Know You’re Capable. Why Don’t You Feel That Way?
You may have accomplishments, experience and people who value you—and still feel that you’re not good enough.
Perhaps you second-guess your decisions, struggle to accept compliments or worry that others will discover you’re less capable than they think. You may hold yourself back, avoid opportunities or feel uncomfortable speaking up.
Knowing your strengths intellectually doesn’t always change how you feel about yourself.
When Old Beliefs Get in the Way
Beliefs such as “I’m not good enough,” “I’m not worthy” or “I have to be perfect” can influence how you respond to everyday situations.
For some people, those beliefs develop through criticism, rejection, comparison or other difficult experiences. They can persist long after the circumstances that shaped them have changed.
You might recognize that a belief is unfair or inaccurate, yet still feel its effects. Repeating positive statements may leave the underlying emotional response untouched.
The CERT Method™: Working With What’s Beneath the Doubt
The CERT Method™—Collaborative Emotional Resolution Therapy—combines hypnosis and NLP to address emotional responses and negative core beliefs that may be contributing to your difficulty.
Together, we explore what happens when you doubt yourself, feel inadequate or anticipate being judged. We work toward changing those responses so your feelings can better reflect your present abilities and circumstances.
The process is collaborative. You remain in control, and you do not need to relive painful experiences or describe every detail of your past.

Confidence in Everyday Life
Our work is guided by what you want to do differently. That might mean:
- Speaking up without continually questioning yourself.
- Setting boundaries without feeling guilty.
- Accepting recognition without dismissing your accomplishments.
- Feeling more comfortable in relationships and social situations.
- Pursuing opportunities you’ve been avoiding.
- Responding to mistakes without turning them into judgments about your worth.
You don’t have to become someone else. The aim is to feel more comfortable being yourself.
You’ve Trained Your Body. Have You Trained Your Mind?
Developing the physical skills of your sport is only part of the game. Your ability to focus, stay composed and trust those skills matters too.
That applies whether you’re a professional athlete, a collegiate competitor, a young player developing your game or someone who simply wants to enjoy a better round of golf or a good game of softball.
You may perform well in practice, then struggle in competition. Overthinking, hesitation, frustration or a mistake you can’t let go of may interfere with skills you know you have.
Much of my performance work has been with elite athletes and competitive amateurs addressing this gap between physical preparation and mental readiness. The same principles apply at every level of play.
Using hypnosis and NLP, we work on focus, composure, confidence and trusting your trained responses. When negative core beliefs or unresolved emotional reactions contribute to the difficulty, The CERT Method™ can become part of that work.
Whether your goal is competing at a higher level or enjoying your sport more, we’ll work toward bringing your mental game into step with your physical skills.
Performing Beyond the Playing Field
The same difficulty can arise during a presentation, interview, examination, audition or other situation where you want to perform at your best.
You may know your material and have the necessary skills, yet find that pressure, self-doubt or fear of being judged interferes when it matters.
We can work on those responses and develop mental preparation suited to the situation—helping you approach it with greater composure, focus and trust in your abilities.
